This GOGA in Action project will continue to address the inequality gap for disabled people being active. Since 2016, GOGA has successfully engaged disabled and non-disabled people in fun and inclusive activity together. Working together with the Centre for Independent Living Kent, the Centre for Health Service Studies at the University of Kent, Dover District Council and Kent Sport, GOGA in Action will continue this work.

We know the pandemic heightened health inequalities, so we are designing a programme of opportunities to support disabled people to be more active. We want to embed this in a sustainable way to support long-term social change with a focus on meaningful co-production.

The GOGA programme brings diverse places, partnerships, and people together through genuinely inclusive activity. We are delighted to see the GOGA in Action project receive this funding from Big Lottery. Thanks to this funding, the legacy of GOGA will create healthier and happier communities in Dover. We look forward to working alongside this project.

Kat Southwell, Head of Programmes at Activity Alliance

GOGA in Action

GOGA in Action is the legacy of the Get Out Get Active (GOGA) Programme. GOGA in Action covers the 18 localities which were involved in GOGA 2016 to 2020. Our GOGA in Action partners continue to champion the core principles of the GOGA programme. They continue to support the least active disabled and non-disabled people to be active together, sharing further delivery, impact and insight to inform the practice of others.
